We’re looking for an inspiring and skilled Level 4 Teaching Assistant (ALN) to join our dynamic Inclusion Advisory Service.
In this exciting role, you’ll work at the heart of a collaborative team, supporting schools across Newport to:
Identify and meet the needs of learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)- Deliver high-quality inclusive practice in line with the ALNET Act (2021) and Equality Act (2010)
- Empower schools, staff, and families to help children achieve their full potential
- Strengthen support through effective planning, targeted interventions, and innovative thinking
- Support pupils with complex ALN in Learning Resource Bases and Special Schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advice, guidance and practical support to schools and education settings in relation to ALN identification, assessment and planning.
- Support the development and implementation of appropriate strategies, interventions and resources.
- Assist in the creation and review of One Page Profiles, targeted support plans and Additional Learning Provision (ALP).
- Work collaboratively with schools, parents/carers, and external agencies to support effective outcomes and transitions for learners.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of provision and provide written feedback where required.
- Lead and deliver training to school staff, including Team Teach and behaviour support strategies.
- Provide advice on behaviour management and differentiation strategies for learners with ALN.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ALN legislation, policy and best practice.
