We’re looking for a Nursery Manager to join the team at our setting in Lewes.
This is an established setting with a clear structure, great team and an ethos loved by parents.
Your job will be to integrate into our operation and provide leadership – getting to know the staff team and ensuring they have the skills and passion to do a great job for you.
You will receive a three-month induction programme during which the current Manager will show you how we operate and support you so that when you take solo control you have everything needed to make this a great nursery.
This job requires skill, aptitude and experience. You will be well rewarded as a result. The package includes market-leading pay, a bonus scheme, private health care and a loan facility that could be used for a house deposit.
The nursery itself is mid-sized and currently open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm all year round. We are in a fabulous building that offers children and staff lots of variety, including an outdoor classroom, a creative room, a playground and big green spaces for nature walks and Forest School just across the road.
There is a car park; we are 10 minutes from the train station with access to Brighton and Eastbourne, a bus to Brighton stops just outside, and Lewes high street – with its cafes, bars and shops – is just round the corner.
Responsibilities
· Developing the staff’s professional skills and teamwork.
· Building strong relationships with the children’s families.
· Extending our Forest School in the green spaces in and around the nursery.
· Making your mark – leading a nursery that will be a valued setting in the local community.
Candidate requirements
· The minimum experience and qualification requirements are 5 years in the early years sector and a Level 3 in childcare.
· You’ll also need to be articulate, confident, and passionate about early years and education.
· Forest School qualifications would be beneficial as would an interest in Montessori.
· A good knowledge of the EYFS and the statutory framework is essential.
· You must be able to show how you would manage a team.
Rewards and benefits
· Market-leading pay. The salary is £38,000–£42,000 depending on experience.
· Annual bonus of up to 10% based on agreed targets.
· A loan facility that could be used for a house deposit.
· Private healthcare.
· 30 days' holiday (including bank holidays) plus one extra day for your birthday.
· A comprehensive induction and on-going funded training programme (i.e. Level 5, safeguarding, leadership qualifications).
· Company pension scheme with employer contributions.
· Paid DBS, professional subscriptions and first aid renewal.
· Free refreshments.
