We are looking for an experienced Quality Supervisor to join our team. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the conformity of castings produced within our foundry. You will oversee day-to-day quality control operations, manage the quality inspection team, handle non-conformities, and act as the primary interface between production, quality, and management.
You will actively contribute to continuous improvement of our processes, compliance with customer requirements, and enforcement of applicable standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
Quality Control & Inspection
- Oversee quality controls and tests in the workshop (dimensional, visual, NDT: dye penetrant, radiography, etc.)
- Manage internal non-conformities: identification, recording, treatment, and closure
- Implement preventive and corrective actions in response to detected defects
- Maintain up-to-date quality records and documentation
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding quality complaints and claims
Operational & Production
- Supervise day-to-day workshop operations to ensure production plans are achieved
- Allocate tasks and priorities to operatives in line with production schedules
- Monitor workflow, output, and efficiency, taking corrective action where required
- Participate in casting type commissions and alloy trials
Metallurgy & Standards
- Ensure the metallurgical conformity of alloys used in production
- Carry out regulatory and technical watch on applicable industrial standards (EN, ISO, ASTM, etc.)
- Act as on-site relay for the Group Metallurgist and contribute to metals R&D efforts
- Train operators in control techniques and the use of measurement equipment
People Management
- Provide daily supervision, guidance, and support to team members
- Train, coach, and mentor team members, including new starters
- Monitor individual and team performance and identify training needs
- Motivate the team and foster a positive working environment
Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and company policies
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and improvement meetings
- Promote safe working practices and good housekeeping standards at all times
Requirements and Skills:
- HND / Degree (or equivalent) in a technical or industrial field (foundry, metallurgy, quality, or mechanical engineering)
- Significant experience in an industrial environment, ideally in foundry or casting
- Previous experience in team management is a strong asset.
Salary depends on experience.
Expected hours: 39 per week
Schedule: Day Shift (early finish Friday)
