The right teacher must be fluent in electric, acoustic, and classical guitar, with the versatility to teach a wide range of styles and techniques. Responsibilities
- Deliver fun, high-quality guitar lessons (electric, acoustic, and classical) in both group and 1-to-1 settings.
- Tailor teaching to different ages, personalities, and learning styles.
- Track student progress and adapt your teaching approach to support growth.
- Prepare students for performances, exams, and academy events.
- Create a positive, welcoming learning environment that encourages musical expression.
- Communicate clearly with parents/guardians regarding progress when appropriate.
- Recommend suitable repertoire and support students with structured practice guidance.
- Maintain accurate lesson and attendance records.
- Bring fresh ideas, creativity, and modern guitar-focused teaching techniques into the classroom.
Requirements
- Strong experience teaching guitar across electric, acoustic, and classical styles.
- Experience delivering group tuition as well as 1-to-1 lessons.
- Excellent understanding of music theory, technique, and performance.
- Formal music qualifications are preferred but not essential for candidates with strong experience.
- Warm, friendly, and approachable personality — someone students feel comfortable with.
- Confident communicator who can motivate learners of all ages.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage varied student needs.
- Passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their musical goals.
- Experience working with children and/or adults in an educational setting is an advantage.
