Health, Safety & Environmental Manager
Salary: £42,000 to £47,000

Castle Employment are working with a well-established manufacturing business in East Yorkshire to recruit an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional who enjoys working autonomously and influencing positive change across a manufacturing site. You'll be responsible for ensuring legal compliance, developing safe working practices and supporting the business in creating a culture where health, safety and environmental standards are continually improving.
What you'll be doing
- Acting as the site's lead for all health, safety and environmental matters
- Providing advice and guidance to managers on HSE legislation and best practice
- Reviewing policies, procedures and risk assessments to ensure ongoing compliance
- Leading investigations following incidents and identifying preventative actions
- Monitoring HSE performance, analysing trends and reporting findings to senior management
- Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring actions are completed
- Promoting a positive safety culture through coaching, engagement and training
- Managing contractor safety and supporting safe systems of work across the site
- Identifying opportunities to improve environmental performance and reduce operational risk
- Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and ensuring the business remains compliant
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a Health, Safety & Environmental role within manufacturing
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation
- Experience carrying out investigations, audits and risk assessments
- A confident communicator who can build relationships across all levels of the business
- A proactive approach with a passion for continuous improvement
Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or another regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
