Summary
Spring Hill Community Primary School is seeking an exceptional School Business Manager to join our vibrant, ambitious and community‑centred school. This is a pivotal leadership role, forming a key part of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and working closely with the Headteacher to drive forward the next phase of our schools development.

With a growing leadership structure, a planned office re‑organisation, and a renewed strategic focus on finance, HR, premises and community engagement, we are looking for a highly skilled professional who can bring clarity, structure and vision to our operational leadership.
About the Role
The School Business Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of:
- Finance:
Oversight of the school budget, financial planning, monitoring and reporting; working with the LCC Finance Officer; ensuring compliance; managing school fund accounts; supporting income generation and fundraising initiatives.
- Human Resources:
Supporting the Headteacher with HR processes including recruitment, induction, absence management, probation, performance processes and maintaining accurate HR systems. You will help lead the restructure of office systems and workflows, ensuring efficient and compliant practice.
- Premises & Health and Safety:
Leading on the development and implementation of the schools 5‑year premises plan, managing contractors, overseeing statutory compliance, and supporting the Site Supervisor with routine checks, PAMS reporting and health and safety procedures.
- Office Leadership & Administration:
Line‑managing the administrative team, supporting an office restructure, improving systems, and ensuring high‑quality communication and customer service across the school.
- Strategic Leadership:
As a member of SLT, you will contribute to whole‑school planning, decision‑making and evaluation. You will attend Governor meetings, present reports, and support the Headteacher in delivering the schools strategic vision.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
Level 4 (or above) qualification in School Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, HR, or a related field (e.g. CSBM, DSBM, AAT Level 4), or willingness to work towards

- Degree‑level qualification in Business, Finance, HR, Leadership or similar.

Essential Experience
- Has significant experience in school business management or a comparable leadership role.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working as part of a Senior Leadership Team.
- Experience managing or contributing to a premises plan or managing capital projects.
- Experience managing school finances, overseeing audits, school fund accounts or imprest systems.
Experience with marketing, community engagement or income‑generation initiatives.
