Highfield Preserves is a family-run business making award-winning jams, marmalades, curds and chutneys. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly, hardworking kitchen team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a food manufacturing background. The job will require working 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday (in rotation) - 10 hours per day with a long weekend off.
The Role
You will be involved in all areas of our busy commercial kitchen, working as part of a team to produce high-quality products we are proud of. Full training will be provided (including Level 2 Food Hygiene in Manufacturing, Manual Handling and HACCP Level 2).
Duties will include:
- Preparing ingredients and assisting with cooking
- Filling, labelling and packing jars
- Recording production information accurately
- Cleaning and maintaining a safe, hygienic working environment
- Following company procedures and food safety standards at all times
What We’re Looking For
- A good work ethic and a positive, team-focused attitude
- The ability to work quickly, accurately and logically in a busy environment
- A strong awareness of food hygiene and cleanliness
- Good communication skills
- Previous food manufacturing experience
Hours
- 4 days per week Monday -Thursday/Tuesday-Friday in rotation, 6am – 4pm
- No weekend work
- Closed at Christmas and on Bank Holidays
