Job Summary
Hood Seating Ltd, a friendly ergonomic seating wholesaler based on Deeside Industrial Park, is looking for a hands-on Warehouse Operative, Furniture Technician & Delivery Driver to join our small, close-knit team.
This is a genuinely varied, physical role — no two days are the same. One day you might be unloading a 40ft container of boxed furniture and rotating stock; the next you could be assembling flat-pack commercial office furniture, repairing or servicing seating, or out on the road delivering a van full of goods. Deliveries are made in a Luton box van and journeys range from local drops to longer runs across the country, so you'll need to be comfortable behind the wheel for extended periods.
We'll agree your working days with you in advance — two consecutive days per week are essential, but we're happy to negotiate which days work best for both sides. This role would suit anyone looking for a couple of days of regular, active work each week — whether you're semi-retired, a student with two consecutive days free, or simply after hands-on part-time hours.
What you'll be doing:
- Assembling flat-pack commercial office furniture
- Unloading 40ft HQ containers a few times a month (boxes average 20–25kg, occasionally up to 35kg)
- Servicing and repairing seating, and repairing flat-pack furniture
- Keeping the warehouse tidy and rotating stock
- Cleaning the car park and keeping the Luton van clean
- Delivering furniture in a Luton box van — both short and long-distance journeys
- Occasional forklift work (a very small part of the role)
What we're looking for:
- Physically fit and strong — handling of boxes up to 35kg
- A full, clean driving licence and confidence driving a Luton van over long distances
- Willingness to do occasional overnight stays when required (infrequent)
- Availability to work two consecutive days per week (the exact days are negotiable)
- A reliable, positive attitude and willingness to muck in and wear many hats.
- Forklift (FLT) experience is a nice-to-have, but not essential
