About Macleod Roofing
Macleod Roofing is an established, award-winning roofing contractor based in Inverness, delivering projects across the Highlands.
For more than 30 years, we have built our reputation around quality workmanship, reliable project delivery and a strong, experienced team.
We are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business and support the commercial management of our growing range of projects.
The Role
Working closely with our contracts, surveying and site teams, you will help manage the commercial performance of projects from the early stages through to completion and final account.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and monitoring project costs and budgets
- Preparing valuations, applications, variations and final accounts
- Producing cost reports and forecasts
- Supporting the estimating and tendering process where required
- Managing subcontractor enquiries, quotations and accounts
- Identifying and managing commercial risks throughout projects
- Maintaining accurate commercial records
- Working closely with contracts managers, site teams, clients and suppliers
- Attending site meetings and carrying out site visits as required
- Helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently and commercially
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, organised and comfortable working across multiple projects.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction or a contracting environment
- A relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong commercial and cost-management skills
- Experience with valuations, variations and final accounts
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A full UK driving licence
Experience within roofing would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
We would also be happy to consider an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is ready to take the next step in their career.
