Ty Plant Community Nursery is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Childcare Practitioner to join our Cilfrew setting from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small but highly valued team, supporting children aged 2–12 years through our Flying Start, wraparound and after-school provision.
We're looking for someone who is warm, caring and motivated to create meaningful experiences for children every day. If you believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, creativity and strong relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Childcare Practitioner, you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families.
- Plan and deliver engaging play and learning experiences.
- Support children's individual development and wellbeing.
- Help create a safe, welcoming and inspiring environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
- Contribute to the day-to-day running of the nursery and out-of-school provision.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 NVQ (or equivalent) in Children's Care, Learning and Development / Early Years.
- Experience working with children in a childcare or early years environment.
- A caring, positive and reliable approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Desirable
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
- Experience working with children across a range of ages.
- Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and child-led practice.
First Aid
A valid Paediatric First Aid certificate is desirable. If you don't already hold one, training can be provided and supported by the nursery.
