R. Plevin & Sons Ltd have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our busy team based at our Hazlehead, Crow Edge, Nr Penistone site. Working on a full time, permanent basis you will receive a competitive salary.
Hours of work
40 hours Monday to Friday + alternative Sat a.m 07:00- 11:00
R. Plevin & Sons is a UK market leader in wood recycling and the manufacture of animal bedding. This family-owned company runs its own fleet of HGV vehicles and trailers.
As our HGV Mechanic your duties will include:
- Duties will include carrying out repairs, MOT preparation and servicing on predominantly commercial trailers, with some other vehicle repair work. There are approximately 160 trailers in the fleet, including walking floor trailers, customised blow box trailers and curtain-sided trailers.
- Work is expected to be carried out to Ministry standards and in a timely manner.
Key skills and experience needed to become our HGV Mechanic:
- You must be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent).
- You must have experience of working in a workshop. (preferably on trailers).
- Both mechanical and fabrication skills are desirable.
- Cat C + E licence is also desirable for this role. (to take vehicles to the MOT station).
- You must be able to use your own initiative and enjoy working in a team.
