Geographic Information System (GIS) Trainee Technician - Full-Time/Permanent
Salary £24,000 - £26,000/Annum (dependant on experience)
Hours: 40.0hrs per week

About the Role
We are seeking a self-motivated GIS Trainee Technician to join our team at our Portglenone office. This role is ideal for someone with an academic background in GIS or data management, strong general IT skills, and an interest in gaining commercial experience. The successful candidate will be organised, methodical and committed to producing accurate, high-quality work.
Primary Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Update and migrate data between various GIS and database platforms
- Maintain company data within GIS and asset management systems as required
- Digitise utility data, including infrastructure attributes, for upload client GIS platform
- Develop automation scripts to support data management, analysis, and quality checking
- Produce 2D and 3D topographical and data models in AutoCAD including Point Clouds
- Input and manage database information, and create weekly water management reports
- Integrate third party data (satellite imagery, aerial photography) within company GIS platform
- Produce as-laid utility drawings
Required skills, knowledge and characteristics
- Relevant GIS qualification, with previous experience using GIS software
- Experience using the ArcGIS Online platform
- Strong computer skills, including experience with complex databases and spreadsheets
- Strong numeracy, interpersonal, and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Professional attitude towards the company, colleagues and clients
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads
- Willingness to develop existing skills and knowledge, with a genuine interest in building a career in GIS
- Ability to follow all company policies and procedures and hold a full, current, clean driving licence
