About The Role

Complex Care Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant

Location: Keighley, North Yorkshire
Pay Rate: From £14.14 per hour

Hours: 10 hours per week + additional bank shifts available

Shifts Available: Days & Nights

Shift Times

✅ 07:00 – 17:00
✅ 07:45 – 20:00
✅ 22:00 – 07:00
✅ 07:00 – 07:45

About the Client

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Complex Care Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant to support a 22-year-old young man living in his own home in Keighley, North Yorkshire.

He has CHARGE Syndrome and is fully dependent on support workers to assist him with his daily living needs. He is a friendly young man who enjoys spending time on his PlayStation and benefits from carers who can build positive, trusting relationships.

No pets in the property

The client has a tracheostomy in situ to maintain his airway and requires regular monitoring and management by trained support staff. He also receives all nutrition, fluids and medication via a gastrostomy (PEG) and requires support with all aspects of his clinical care.

Essential Clinical Skills & Experience

✅ Tracheal Suctioning
✅ PEG/Gastrostomy Care & Feeding
✅ Airvo Ventilation Support (Overnight)
✅ Medication Administration
✅ Basic Life Support (BLS)
✅ Behaviour Management
✅ Personal Care
✅ Experience working with non-verbal clients

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care
Support communication through sign language and other adapted communication methods
Provide tracheostomy care and perform tracheal suctioning when required
Administer PEG/gastrostomy feeds, fluids and medications
Support respiratory needs including overnight ventilation
Assist with all personal care requirements
Support positive behaviour management strategies
Maintain accurate care records and report concerns appropriately
Promote independence, wellbeing, dignity and social engagement
Engage the client in activities he enjoys

What We're Looking For

✔️ Previous experience supporting individuals with complex healthcare needs

✔️ Confident and competent with tracheostomy care, suctioning, PEG feeding and medication administration

✔️ Calm, patient and reliable approach

✔️ Excellent communication and observation skills

✔️ Ability to work independently within a client's home

✔️ Commitment to delivering exceptional person-centred care
