Butchery Supervisor
Taste Tradition Ltd was established in 2004 as a diversification from the family farming business. We specialise in the rearing and supply of Rare Breed Meat to the wholesale and catering industries, offering a premium, high-quality product with true 'gate to plate' provenance.
Operating from our meat cutting plant on the outskirts of Ripon, we are proud of our reputation for exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and customer service.
Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Butchery Supervisor to support the management team and develop staff.

The Role
As Butchery Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of the butchery department, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety and efficiency alongside the management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and supporting the butchery team to ensure customer orders are processed to the desired spec.
- Planning and coordinating daily production to meet dispatch deadlines.
- Maintaining exceptional standards of butchery, including carcass breakdown, de-boning and portion cutting.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Training, mentoring and supporting team members to develop their skills.
- Managing stock rotation and helping to minimise waste.
- Assisting with stock control and receiving deliveries.
- Working closely with management to improve productivity and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a butchery supervisory or senior butcher role.
- Excellent carcass butchery and portion cutting skills.
- Strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to motivate a team.
- Flexible approach and willingness to grow with the business.

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with Bank Holidays worked on a rota basis.
Due to our rural location, own transport is essential. We are ideally located for candidates travelling from Ripon, Thirsk, Northallerton and York.
