Graduate Engineer - Aberdeen
Join Helix Well Ops (UK) Ltd, part of Helix Energy Solutions—a global leader in offshore energy services, specialising in Well Intervention and Robotics Operations.
We’re looking for a motivated Graduate Engineer to join our Aberdeen-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified engineer to kick-start their career, gaining hands-on experience across subsea systems and well intervention projects within a collaborative, real-world engineering environment.
Working within the Subsea Systems Intervention Group (SSIG) and reporting to the Lead Engineering Manager, you’ll be supported by experienced engineers while contributing to meaningful projects both onshore and offshore.
What You’ll Be Doing

Support the design and development of engineering solutions using SolidWorks and DraftSight

Assist in producing and reviewing technical drawings and documentation

Contribute to the planning and delivery of Well Intervention campaigns

Work alongside multi-disciplinary teams on technical reviews and project activities

Provide engineering support to both onshore and offshore operations

Assist with riser analysis, data collection, and reporting

Support asset maintenance, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives

Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams

Ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ISO) and company procedures

Contribute to engineering reviews and management of change processes

Maintain a strong focus on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards
What we’re Looking For
-
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (BEng (Hons) or MEng preferred)

Experience using 2D and 3D CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, DraftSight)

Understanding of core engineering principles (mechanical, structural, pressure systems)

Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office; MathCAD is a plus)

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn

Interest or awareness of Oil & Gas, LWI, or Decommissioning (desirable)
