Down To Earth Demolition Ltd is an established, family-owned demolition and enabling works contractor based in Nottingham. Since 2009, we have built a strong reputation for delivering safe, professional demolition services across the UK.
Operating as both a Principal Contractor and specialist demolition subcontractor, we work across a wide range of commercial, industrial and public sector projects. Alongside our demolition business, we operate our own waste management and recycling facility, allowing us to deliver a complete demolition solution for our clients.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an experienced Demolition Estimator to join our commercial team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to become part of a close-knit business where your knowledge and experience will make a real impact.
You will be responsible for preparing competitive tenders, developing accurate project costings and supporting the successful delivery of demolition projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
· Review demolition tender enquiries, drawings and specifications
· Attend site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential risks
· Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates
· Measure quantities and assess labour, plant, equipment and material requirements
· Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
· Prepare and submit competitive tender packages within required deadlines
· Liaise with clients during the tender process and respond to technical queries
· Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions
· Support project handovers to the operational team following contract award
· Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues
About You
We're looking for someone who can work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Essential Requirements
· Previous experience as an Estimator within the demolition, construction or enabling works sector
· Strong commercial awareness and excellent numerical skills
· Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills
· Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
· Competent user of Microsoft Office
· Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
· Experience estimating demolition projects
· Knowledge of demolition methods and sequencing
· Understanding of asbestos removal, enabling works or waste management
· Experience working with NEC or JCT forms of contract
· Relevant construction or commercial qualifications
