About Albatross Cars Albatross Cars is a Derby-based transport company, providing taxi and private hire services across Derby and beyond.
We are launching a new Safe Travel Team to support students and members of the public during busy evenings, student nights, Freshers and major events across Derby city centre.
We are looking for 4 enthusiastic and reliable people to join the team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and wants to be part of a new initiative focused on helping people get home safely
. The Role As a Safe Travel Team Member, you will be a visible and approachable representative of Albatross Cars within Derby's night-time economy.
Your main responsibility will be helping customers access safe and reliable transport home.
Your duties will include:
Helping customers book Albatross taxis
Assisting customers with downloading and using the Albatross app
Promoting our student safe-travel scheme and 20% student discount
Providing customers with information about safe transport options
Helping customers organise group journeys home
Providing QR codes and promotional information
Directing customers towards agreed taxi collection points
Working alongside participating bars, clubs and venues
Supporting Albatross at Freshers events and student nights
Assisting with transport arrangements at larger events
Reporting any concerns or incidents to the appropriate venue staff or emergency services
Providing excellent customer service and representing Albatross professionally
Important This is not a security or door-staff position.
You will not be expected to deal with fights, physically intervene in incidents, remove people from venues or act as security.
Your role is focused on customer service, transport assistance and helping people arrange a safe journey home.
Where You'll Work
The role will primarily be based around Derby city centre, including key student and nightlife areas and participating venues.
You may also work at specific events and venues, including Freshers events and major nightlife events.
Working Hours This is predominantly an evening and night-time role.
Shifts will typically take place on:
Tuesday and Wednesday student nights
Friday and Saturday nights Freshers events
University events Major nightlife and entertainment events
Typical working hours may be approximately 9pm–4am, depending on the event.
There may also be opportunities for daytime work at Freshers fairs and promotional events.

Previous experience in hospitality, events, customer service, security, transport or the night-time economy would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Full training will be provided.
