Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time (term time)
Pay: £500 – £510 per week
Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for an English Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Bournemouth.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in English and education who is passionate about helping students develop their literacy, comprehension, and written communication skills.
You will work closely with the English department to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, both in-class and through targeted interventions aimed at raising attainment and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support during English lessons
- Support students with reading, writing, and comprehension tasks
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist with literacy interventions and revision sessions
- Help improve student confidence and engagement in English
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support progress
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong understanding of English language and literature
- Experience working with young people (education experience desirable)
- Patient, supportive, and encouraging approach
- Strong literacy and communication skills
- Passion for helping students achieve in English
- Relevant qualifications beneficial but not essential
