H G Gladwell & Sons Ltd was established in 1912 and now manufactures and distributes a range of pet food and pet related goods. These products are in bags or boxes, which weigh up to approximately 25 kg.
We are looking for a new member of the Rayleigh team, who is happy to work weekend and drive the delivery van on occasions.
Position reports into: Branch Manager
Job Purpose: To work in our Trade and Retail Store providing a professional, efficient and accurate service to our customers, including delivery to some customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sustain and improve sales performance and customer satisfaction relating to the branch
- Accurately process orders
- Perform duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner
- Ensure all established procedures are adhered to
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, suppliers, customers and the general public
- Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant Health and Safety procedures.
Duties include but are not exclusive:
- Perform selling and customer service activities competently including accepting payments for goods
- Communicate and liaise verbally with customers/ suppliers/ visitors/ enquirers/ co-workers and managers.
- Efficiently and effectively respond to spoken requests over the phone or in person
- Respond clearly and effectively to verbal or written instructions
- Maintenance of the hygiene of the branch.
- Stock control and replenishment of goods
- Van Delivery of goods to local customers
Skills:
- Retail experience or customer service experience an advantage
- Must be computer literate
- Must be numerate and literate as will be working from written instructions
- Excellent attention to detail is required as mistakes are costly to rectify
- A confident and friendly personality is essential
- Ability to work under own initiative is important
- Knowledge of Pets and animals would be an advantage
- Clean driving record
Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 per week
