Job Summary
Clifton Packaging Ltd. is seeking a reliable and skilled Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver with experience in Counterbalance(B1) & Reach (D1) to join our dynamic team. This is initially a temporary role with the opportunity to become permanent following successful completion of the probation period. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations, including loading and unloading goods, operating forklifts, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The position offers an excellent opportunity for those with warehouse experience looking to develop their skills within a supportive environment.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
- Manage stock levels using the warehouse management system, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including preparing goods for dispatch and receipt
- Conduct basic equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Handle materials carefully, adhering to safety protocols during loading and unloading processes
- Perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury
- Organise storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
- Support inventory management through stock counts and cycle checks
- Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics roles is highly desirable
- Prior experience operating forklift trucks is essential; certification or licence is required
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Ability to handle materials safely, including heavy lifting, with good physical fitness
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
