Part-Time Chef de Partie – Feta at The Ceres Inn
Location: Ceres, FifeHours: 16–20 hours per weekTypical shifts: Thursday to Sunday, including eveningsPay: £[insert hourly rate] per hour
Feta is an independent Greek-inspired street food and catering business based at The Ceres Inn. We serve everything from freshly prepared gyros and small plates to dishes such as prawn saganaki, beef stifado and our signature feta honey bites.
We’re looking for a capable, reliable Chef de Partie to join our small kitchen team for approximately 16–20 hours per week.
This isn’t a huge brigade or a corporate kitchen. You’ll work closely with the owners and the rest of the team, so we need someone who can take responsibility for their section, stay organised and produce consistently good food when service gets busy.
The role
You’ll be involved in:
- Preparing and cooking our Greek-inspired menu
- Running a section confidently during service
- Producing dishes consistently and to our agreed standards
- Completing food preparation ahead of busy services
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Checking deliveries, rotating stock and helping control waste
- Supporting the wider kitchen team wherever required
- Contributing ideas as we develop new dishes, specials and events
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a professional kitchen
- Can work calmly and efficiently during a busy service
- Takes pride in presentation, consistency and cleanliness
- Understands food hygiene, allergens and safe kitchen practices
- Is dependable, organised and comfortable working as part of a small team
- Is willing to learn our dishes and the way we operate
- Has a genuine interest in freshly prepared food
Formal qualifications are welcome but aren’t essential. Experience, attitude and reliability matter more to us.
Optional event and wedding work
Feta also caters for weddings, private events and food-truck services throughout the year.
There may be opportunities to pick up additional paid shifts at these events if you’re interested. This work is completely optional and isn’t a requirement of the main role.
What we offer
- A regular part-time position of approximately 16–20 hours per week
- Additional optional event and wedding shifts
- A relaxed but professional independent kitchen
- The chance to contribute ideas and help shape a growing food business
- Staff food while working
- Holiday entitlement and workplace pension where applicable
If you’re a confident chef looking for a part-time role with a growing independent business, we’d like to hear from you.
Please apply with your CV and a short note telling us about your kitchen experience and current availability.
