We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) Operator to join our construction and industrial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating MEWPs efficiently and safely, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical skills within a dynamic environment, supporting various construction and logistics projects. Candidates with experience in mechanical systems, materials handling, and operating other machinery such as forklifts or excavators will find this position particularly suitable. All roles are paid positions, including internships.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate MEWPs to facilitate work at height in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of the equipment prior to use, identifying any faults or maintenance needs.
- Assist with materials handling, including loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or cranes when required.
- Support construction activities by operating machinery like excavators or other plant equipment as needed.
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE and adhering to site-specific procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Experience
- Proven experience operating MEWPs in a construction or industrial environment.
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery, including forklifts, excavators, and warehouse equipment.
- Experience in commercial driving, particularly operating lorries or specialised vehicles related to shipping & receiving tasks.
- Background in materials handling within warehouses or construction sites is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring efficient logistics support.
- Construction experience is advantageous, especially familiarity with site safety standards and working at height.
