We are looking for a committed and passionate Team Leader to join our children’s home in Birmingham, supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to build on your experience, lead by example, and play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home while supporting and developing a dedicated staff team.
The role involves working long day shifts from 07:00 to 22:30, including sleep-in duties, on a rota of two days on followed by four days off, allowing for a good work-life balance.
Rates/salary:
- Total salary £35,850 - £37,510 (basic inclusive of sleeps)
- Overtime hourly rate of £15.56 - £16.04
- Enhanced hourly rate (selective days) of £19.06 - £19.54
- £55 per sleep-in (TL's complete 10-11 sleeps p/m)
- Birthday off and paid (value of £200 to £250)
- £500 annual attendance bonus
- £150 bonus for successfully completing probation period
- Weekend standby incentive of £40 per day
- DBS Update Service subscription fee reimbursed after every year of service with us
- Overtime, Enhanced and Standby opportunities between 2 homes
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and lead shifts ensuring children are kept safe and engaged
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care at all times
- Be flexible, consistent, reflective and creative in your engagement with the young people
- Conducting regularly key working sessions with the young people
- The requirement to sleep overnight at the home
- Work flexibly, which includes office hours, early morning and late nights, regular weekend hours & bank holidays
Experience and qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification (ESSENTIAL)
- At least 1 year's experience working in children's residential care (ESSENTIAL)
Pay: £35,850.00-£37,510.00 per year
