We are now looking for a Campus IT & AV Technician to join our team—someone who is passionate about technology, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys delivering high-quality support across our campuses, making a real difference to the day-to-day experience of our staff and students.
The Role
As a Campus IT & AV Technician, you’ll play a key role in delivering front-line IT and audio-visual support across our Edinburgh campuses, including Sighthill, Merchiston and Craiglockhart.
Working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, you’ll provide hands-on support to staff, students and visitors, ensuring teaching, learning and event spaces run smoothly and effectively. This is a campus-based role, with regular rotation between sites, giving you the opportunity to work across a diverse range of environments while building strong relationships with colleagues and users.
You’ll be involved in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of IT and AV technologies, while also contributing to service improvements, documentation and user guidance, helping to ensure services are reliable, responsive and aligned to the needs of our University community.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT and AV professional who enjoys delivering hands-on support and working in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be someone who can build strong relationships, solve problems effectively and contribute to a high-quality user experience across our campuses.
You’ll bring:
Experience working in an IT and/or AV support environment, providing front-line technical support and troubleshooting
A strong customer focus, with the ability to understand user needs and deliver clear, practical solutions
Knowledge of IT and AV technologies, including hardware, software, networking and audio-visual systems
The ability to prioritise workloads and work calmly under pressure, managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to support, guide and train users at all levels
Effective problem-solving skills, with a logical and methodical approach
Experience working collaboratively with colleagues, teams and external suppliers
A commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with emerging technologies
It would also be beneficial if you have:
Experience supporting IT & AV services within a higher education environment
An ITIL Foundation qualification or equivalent practical experience

- Salary: Grade 3: £ 26,093 with annual pay progression within the grade to go upto £31,236 (Grade 3- £26,093 - £31,236 per annum)
