Western General Hospital EH4 2XUAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Research Nurse to work as part of the Alzheimer's Society UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN) within NHS Lothian.
Based at the Western General Hospital, you will be part of an exciting new development in dementia research as NHS Lothian joins the UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN), to deliver early phase dementia clinical trials. You will work alongside a dedicated and highly skilled research delivery team at the forefront of dementia research. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to studies that have the potential to transform the lives of people living with dementia.
The post-holder will play a key role in establishing and developing the UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN) within NHS Lothian. Working closely with Principal Investigators, senior nursing, medical, research and operational colleagues, and external partners, you will help build and deliver a program of early phase dementia studies, increasing opportunities for patients to take part in research and access new and emerging treatments.
As an experienced research nurse, you will lead the delivery of high-quality research, ensuring participant safety, excellent care and compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
Applicants should have substantial post-registration clinical experience, evidence of ongoing professional development and a strong understanding of clinical research within the NHS. Experience in dementia research and/or early phase clinical trials is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a complex and evolving research environment.
You will also provide guidance, support and mentorship to members of the wider research team, helping to develop skills, share expertise and promote high-quality research practice across the service.
