Are you a people person with great organizational skills? We have an exciting opportunity for an Admin Assistant / Receptionist to join our friendly and dedicated Community Mental Health Team at Britton House, Gillingham.
As the first point of contact for our service, you will play a truly integral role in our day-to-day operations. You’ll be the welcoming face at our reception desk and the helpful voice on our switchboard, ensuring our patients and visitors feel supported from the moment they reach out.
Alongside managing the front-of-house, you will provide vital administrative support to our multidisciplinary team of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Nursing professionals.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Welcoming Visitors: Providing a warm, professional, and compassionate customer service experience at our front reception.
Managing Communications: Handling incoming calls via the switchboard with care and efficiency.
Supporting the Team: Keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes by providing essential admin support to our clinical staff.
Making a Difference: Acting as a key pillar of support for both our staff and the individuals accessing our mental health services
This varied role will include:
Meeting and greeting all visitors including, staff, patients, family/carers and external colleagues, including undertaking appropriate security checks, i.e. ID
Scanning and uploading documentation to clinical records.
Typing letters
Minuting meetings - if needed training will be provided
Using the patient record system RiO (training provided)
General office duties, such as answering the telephone, dealing with queries, signposting, photocopying, laminating etc
Adhoc tasks as required.
Dealing with clients empathetically.
Ordering of stationery and other items as required via SBS (training provided).
It is important that the successful applicant exhibits empathy and compassion, has a professional and flexible attitude, likes being part of a team, has good communication and interpersonal skills, is able to prioritise workloads.

Ideally educated to GCSE standard, with A to C in Maths and English (or equivalent) you will also have knowledge of MS Office applications i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Previous administrative experience, excellent typing skills and telephone manner.
