Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Night Porter to provide exceptional guest services during overnight hours. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety, security, and comfort of our guests and premises. The Night Porter will be responsible for maintaining a secure and hospitable atmosphere throughout the night shift, ensuring all guests’ needs are met promptly and efficiently.
Duties
- Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures, maintaining excellent phone etiquette at all times
- Monitor security systems and conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security
- Respond promptly to guest enquiries, requests, or concerns, providing courteous and professional assistance
- Handle incoming calls, messages, and reservations with a friendly and efficient approach
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front desk area during the night shift
- Assist with administrative tasks such as logging incidents or maintenance issues during your shift
- Collaborate with other hotel staff to ensure smooth operations overnight
- Conduct periodic checks of all public areas to uphold safety standards and guest comfort
Skills
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively communicate with diverse guests
- Strong phone etiquette skills for handling guest inquiries professionally over the telephone
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential; a friendly demeanour and eagerness to learn are key
- Excellent guest service skills with a focus on hospitality and customer satisfaction
- Ability to remain calm, attentive, and professional during night hours in a quiet yet vigilant manner
- Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive information or situations
