A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a permanent part-time Nursery Cook to join Natural Choice Nurseries.
We are a small and very caring company, who value and look after all of our employees. The heart of our Nursery is the fabulous team and an important part of that team could be you, our Nursery Cook. We have a vacancy for a part-time Nursery Cook, at our Alveston Nursery. You will work as part of a dedicated team to ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance with the weekly menus, catering for all children and, where appropriate, provide alternatives to children with any specific allergies or special dietary requirements.
Hours: 20 hours per week between 8am-1pm (can be flexible to suit school hours)
The Role
- Create online supermarket grocery orders and coordinate the deliveries
- Prepare delicious and nutritious lunch and tea daily
- You will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of the nursery kitchen, within company, environmental and other regulatory authority guidelines, paying particular attention to the safe preparation of food and the specific needs of the children
Requirements, skills and requirements
- Ideally hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene and Food Safety qualification (online training can be provided)
- Have previous experience within a kitchen, including meal preparation, cooking and presentation
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, health and safety are maintained in the kitchen at all times
- Able to undertake any further duties assigned by the Nursery Manager, in relation to the kitchen, meals, serving and cleanliness
- Passionate about preparing fresh, balanced, nutritious and mainly plant-based meals
- Ensure that all food preparation and food handling complies with all health regulations and guidelines
- To maintain adequate levels of food stocks and ensure they are stored in appropriate storage conditions
