We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight shifts in a care home environment. Responsibilities
- Offer personalized support to residents throughout the night, assisting with mobility, medication reminders, and personal hygiene as needed.
- Monitor residents’ health and safety by conducting regular checks and responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, following established care plans and reporting any changes or issues to senior staff.
- Facilitate effective communication with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Support residents in maintaining their dignity and independence while respecting their individual preferences and needs.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties within residents’ rooms and communal areas to uphold a clean, safe environment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding procedures, to ensure a secure environment for residents and staff alike.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively is essential.
- Familiarity with IT systems used for documentation and reporting within healthcare environments is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English are required to interact clearly with residents, colleagues, and external professionals.
- A valid driving license is preferred but not mandatory; however, the ability to assist with transportation or errands may be beneficial.
- Experience in managing or supporting individuals with diverse needs will be considered an asset.
