Job Overview
We are looking for a full time pharmacist to manage our store in Knaresborough. The hours are 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. We are looking for an experienced pharmacist used to working in a busy community pharmacy setting.
Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately in accordance with doctor’s instructions and legal requirements
- Provide professional advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, and potential contraindications
- Maintain comprehensive records of prescriptions dispensed and patient interactions
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and oversee inventory control to prevent shortages or overstocking
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans
- Educate patients on health matters, including lifestyle modifications and over-the-counter remedies
- Supervise pharmacy assistants and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service
Qualifications
- Fully qualified Pharmacist with registration from the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or equivalent regulatory body
- Proven experience working within a pharmacy setting is desirable but not essential for newly qualified candidates
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medical terminology, and legal regulations governing pharmacy practice
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medication and maintaining records
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethical standards
