Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Grab Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles, specifically those equipped with grab lorries, to facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of materials. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent driving skills, and experience with commercial vehicles. The successful applicant will play a vital part in ensuring timely collections while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Duties
- Operate HGV lorries fitted with grab equipment to load and unload materials accurately and safely.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on the vehicle and grab machinery to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.
- Assist in the loading and securing of cargo, ensuring it is safely transported to designated sites.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including documentation related to load weights and delivery times.
- Follow all health and safety protocols during operations to minimise risks on-site and on the road.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience operating HGV lorries equipped with grab machinery.
- Valid HGV driving licence with relevant categories for operating flatbed or similar vehicles.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and heavy lifting operations.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting skills is advantageous.

Pay: £12.79-£17.00 per hour
