Duties
- Operate cash registers and point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently during transactions
- Assist customers with purchases, returns, and exchanges using excellent communication skills
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is properly merchandised
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance customer experience and sales
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision, adhering to cash handling procedures
- Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Manage time effectively to minimize wait times and ensure smooth checkout flow during busy periods
Experience
- Previous experience in retail or customer service roles is preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent communication skills to engage confidently with diverse customers
- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and upselling strategies is a plus
