About Us
Part of Sports Publications, 18Players is a full-service creative agency specialising in sport. We create high-quality digital and print content for membership organisations, governing bodies, brands and venues, alongside services including design, web development, video, social media and campaign delivery.
Our roots are in golf, but our client work reaches across the wider sporting landscape.
Sports Publications also publish National Club Golfer, our established in-house golf media title (nationalclubgolfer.com).
The Opportunity
The Marketing Assistant will support the day-to-day delivery of marketing activity for 18Players and its clients. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a general understanding of digital marketing and a strong interest in golf, sport, content, and audience engagement.
You will assist with campaign planning, content scheduling, social media activity, email marketing, reporting, and general marketing coordination.
Responsibilities
- · Support the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns for 18Players and its clients.
· Assist with organic social media activity, including content planning, scheduling, posting, and community engagement.
· Help coordinate paid social campaigns, including organising creative assets, preparing campaign briefs, supporting setup, and monitoring basic performance.
· Support email marketing campaigns, including preparing content, building emails, updating mailing lists, and reviewing campaign results.
· Maintain marketing calendars and help ensure campaigns are delivered on time.
· Track and report on key marketing metrics, including reach, engagement, clicks, conversions, open rates, and campaign performance.
· Assist with creating and adapting content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, and email.
· Carry out competitor, audience, and industry research across golf, sport, leisure, and lifestyle sectors.
· Liaise with internal team members, clients, suppliers, and external partners to gather assets, information, and approvals.
· Support the wider 18Players team with marketing administration, campaign coordination, and content ideas.
Key Skills
· A general grasp of paid social, email marketing, and organic social media.
· Strong written communication skills and good attention to detail.
· Comfortable using social media platforms in a brand or business context.
· Basic understanding of digital marketing performance metrics.
· Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
· Creative mindset with an interest in content, campaigns, and digital trends.
· Interest in golf, sport, leisure, or lifestyle marketing.
Experience with tools such as Meta Ads Manager, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Canva, Google Analytics, or social scheduling platforms would be beneficial but is not essential.
We are interested in potential as well as experience. If the role excites you but you do not meet every desirable criterion, we would still encourage you to apply.
You Will Be
- Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn
- Organised and detail-focused
- Creative, curious, and full of ideas
- Comfortable working across multiple clients and projects
- Able to take direction, manage feedback, and work as part of a small team
- Passionate about marketing, content, and the golf industry
