R.D. Mechanical Services was established in 1998 and has since been a trusted name in the sale, hire, maintenance, repair, and servicing of all types of municipal vehicles, agricultural machinery, and plant equipment. Still family run, we are expanding our showroom team and require a knowledgeable and customer focused Parts & Service Counter Advisor .
The Role
As a primary point of contact in our showroom, you will bridge the gap between our customers, our parts inventory, and the workshop. Responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering phone/email enquiries, and responding to emails regarding parts availability, pricing, and service scheduling.
- Parts Sourcing & Advice: Managing electronic parts catalogs and inventory software to accurately identify, source, and supply the correct parts for agricultural and groundcare equipment.
- Service Coordination: Advising customers on service requirements, booking machinery into the workshop, and keeping clients updated on the progress of their repairs.
- Inventory Management: Ordering parts from suppliers, processing incoming stock, maintaining showroom displays, and preparing parts orders for both retail customers and our internal workshop technicians.
- Transactions & Admin: Processing payments, managing invoices, handling returns, and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in a parts counter, service advising, or parts coordination role (ideally within the agricultural, plant, or commercial vehicle sector).
- Strong mechanical awareness to interpret customer needs and accurately identify parts from technical diagrams.
- Proficient in using parts cataloguing software, inventory databases, and point-of-sale systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide top tier customer service under pressure.
- Strong multitasking and time management skills to handle counter customers while managing phone and email queries.
- A full UK driving licence.

Salary
£32,000 to £36,000 D.O.E
Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
