Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems across various projects. Duties
- Conduct site assessments to determine drainage requirements and develop detailed plans.
- Install, repair, and maintain drainage infrastructure using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform welding and carpentry tasks as needed for structural support or modifications.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as plumbers and civil engineers to ensure project specifications are met.
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate installation processes.
- Utilise basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical drawings interpretation.
- Manage the assembly of drainage components and systems on-site.
- Drive commercial vehicles as required for transporting materials or personnel between sites.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in drainage installation or related civil engineering roles.
- Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and the use of power tools.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to drainage systems and infrastructure components.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Experience with commercial driving is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with assembly processes for drainage components or similar structures is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in planning and executing tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
