Due to the exciting expansion of our Nursery to include two-year-olds from September 2026, Wellington School is seeking two enthusiastic and caring Nursery Practitioners to join our fantastic Early Years team.
This is a wonderful opportunity for passionate Early Years professionals to play a key role in shaping children’s first experiences of education within a warm, ambitious and nurturing environment.
Working within our purpose-designed Nursery spaces and outdoor learning areas, you will help create engaging, imaginative and joyful learning experiences where children feel safe, valued and excited to explore the world around them.
We are seeking practitioners who can build strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues and who bring warmth, energy and positivity to every interaction. As a Level 3 qualified professional, you will have a genuine passion for supporting young children’s development through play, exploration and meaningful learning opportunities.
Working alongside a supportive team led by the Head of Pre-Prep and supported by a Lead Practitioner, you will contribute to delivering outstanding Early Years provision whilst helping every child thrive socially, emotionally and developmentally.
About the roles
There are two part-time vacancies available, working 28.75 hours per week across 35 weeks of term time, plus an additional 6 weeks supporting our Nursery Holiday Club.
Role 1:
Monday – Friday, 7.45am – 1.30pm
Role 2:
Monday – Friday, 12.15pm – 6.00pm
You will:
- Support children across the Nursery age range, including our new two-year-old provision
- Deliver engaging, play-based educational activities
- Observe, monitor and support children’s development in line with the EYFS framework
- Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Encourage children’s independence, curiosity and confidence
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture
- Support the Nursery Holiday Club during non-term time weeks
You'll bring:
- A Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)
- A genuine passion for working with young children
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A flexible and positive approach, with willingness to work across Nursery age groups
- The ability to create engaging and nurturing learning experiences
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- A Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable, although training can be provided
