The Role
Western Communication is looking for an exceptional Personal Assistant to work directly and side-by-side with our Chief Executive Officer. This is far more than a diary and inbox role. It is a front-row seat to how a growing business is run — a position built for a resolute, highly motivated individual who wants to learn the business from the top and grow into something bigger. You will be working with the CEO : anticipating needs, protecting their time, keeping commitments on track, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. The right person will bring order, drive and discretion in equal measure, and will quickly become someone the CEO — and the wider senior leadership team — rely on.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the CEO's diary, meetings and travel — proactively prioritising, scheduling and resolving conflicts so their time is spent where it matters most.
- Act as the first point of contact for the CEO, handling correspondence, calls and requests with professionalism and sound judgement.
- Prepare agendas, briefing notes, presentations and documents ahead of meetings, and capture actions and follow-ups afterwards.
- Track key priorities, deadlines and commitments across the CEO's workload, chasing progress and keeping projects moving.
- Coordinate with the senior leadership team, clients, suppliers and partners on the CEO's behalf, always representing the business well.
- Organise internal and external meetings, events and leadership sessions end-to-end, from logistics to materials.
- Handle confidential and commercially sensitive information with absolute discretion.
- Take ownership of ad-hoc projects and problems — stepping in wherever needed to remove obstacles and get things done.
What We're Looking For
This role is suited to a resolute, highly motivated individual who thrives on responsibility and takes genuine pride in getting things right. We are far more interested in attitude, drive and reliability than in a specific background.
- Resolute and self-driven — you take ownership, push things over the line and stay calm and composed under pressure.
- Highly organised — you manage competing priorities with ease and never let details slip.
- Trustworthy and discreet — you handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
- An excellent communicator — clear, confident and professional in writing and in person.
- Proactive — you anticipate what's needed and act before being asked.
- Sharp and adaptable — a quick learner, comfortable switching between tasks and priorities as the day demands.
- Confident with technology — competent with email, calendars, documents and everyday business tools.
- Previous experience in a PA, EA, administrative or coordination role is welcome but not essential — the right mindset matters most
Growth & Progression
This position is deliberately designed as a launchpad. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO gives you unrivalled visibility across every part of the business, and we want the right person to grow well beyond the PA remit.
There is major room for growth — both within the role and outward into higher-level functions alongside the senior leadership team. As you build trust and prove yourself, you will be given genuine opportunities to take on greater responsibility in areas such as operations, commercial, projects and strategy. For an ambitious individual, this is a rare chance to earn a seat at the table and build a long-term career at the heart of the business.
