About Redbus Ventures
Redbus invests in early stage ventures, predominantly in the UK. Alongside our core venture activity, we allocate capital to special situations, including acquiring businesses that require reorganisation and purchasing assets that are materially undervalued.
The Role
We're looking for a part-time Financial Controller (2 days per week) to work closely with our leadership team to build and run the finance function within Redbus Ventures. You'll own core financial operations end to end while implementing the processes, controls, and systems.
What You Will Own
- The month-end and year-end close process across the group, including management accounts, and consolidated reporting.
- Cash flow forecasting, burn and runway modelling, treasury, and intercompany transactions across the group.
- Payroll across jurisdictions, alongside accounts payable, expenses, and the spend approval process.
- Statutory compliance across the group — Companies House filings, annual accounts, VAT, and corporation tax.
- Relationships with auditors, external accountants, and tax advisors.
- The design and continuous improvement of financial controls, policies, and processes as we scale.
Essential Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (full ACA or ACCA membership)
- Experience with EIS/SEIS advance assurance applications and compliance filings, supporting investor tax relief across portfolio investments.
- Solid experience with UK statutory accounts, compliance, and governance, including hands-on Companies House filings
- Comfortable working autonomously across a broad remit and building processes from scratch
- Experience with modern accounting and HR/payroll software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Rippling)
- Willing to work from our central London office 2 days per week
Nice to Have
- Experience with charity accounting (Charities SORP) and Charity Commission compliance, including trustees' annual reports and annual returns.
- Exposure to personal tax matters for UHNW individuals or family principals, including self-assessment, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
- Proven experience as a financial leader
Salary
- £80,000 - £90,000 pro rata depending on experience
Pay: £80,000.00-£90,000.00 per year
