Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the operations of our Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Care Home in the Bedford. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the care home, providing leadership to the staff, and maintaining a high standard of care for individuals. Your primary focus will be on managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and standards, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall operations of the Learning Disabilities Care Home, ensuring adherence to UK regulatory requirements, company policies, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance the delivery of care and support services.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff members, providing regular feedback, coaching, and identifying opportunities for professional development.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as families, local authorities, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies, to ensure the best possible care outcomes for residents.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including care plans, assessments, and incident reports, in compliance with UK data protection regulations.
- Manage budgets, resources, and supplies to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness while adhering to financial guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation, health and safety regulations, and quality assurance standards specific to learning disabilities care.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
- Address and resolve any operational issues, conflicts, or concerns that arise within the care home in accordance with UK employment and safeguarding laws.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and developments related to learning disabilities care in the UK, and implement relevant changes as necessary.
Requirements:
- NVQ (Level 4/5)
- Proven experience in a management role within a care home or a similar healthcare setting in the UK.
- Sound knowledge of learning disabilities and mental health, person-centered care, and UK regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and operational processes effectively while adhering to UK financial regulations.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software applications common in the UK healthcare sector.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
- Knowledge of UK employment and safeguarding laws relevant to the care sector.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and disciplines in the UK context.
