Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide compassionate and effective support to young people aged 16 and over in supported accommodation. This role involves assisting young individuals in developing life skills, ensuring their safety, and promoting their independence within a caring and structured environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in fostering a positive atmosphere where young people can thrive and reach their full potential. Duties
- Build trusting relationships with young residents, offering guidance and emotional support
- Assist with daily living activities, including organisation of routines
- Contribute to the development and review of personalised support plans tailored to each individual’s needs
- Support young people in accessing education, employment, or training opportunities
- Encourage participation in social activities to promote social skills and community engagement
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and incidents in accordance with organisational policies
- Promote safety protocols within the accommodation, ensuring a secure environment for all residents
- Facilitate effective communication between young people, colleagues, and external agencies as required
- Assist with driving responsibilities where necessary, ensuring safe transportation for appointments if required
Skills
- Experience working with children or vulnerable young people is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with young residents and team members
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain accurate documentation
- Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding policies
- IT literacy for record keeping, report writing, and communication purposes
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting transportation needs
- Compassionate attitude with patience, resilience, and a genuine desire to support young people's development

Pay: £24,864.00-£27,528.00 per year
