National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Administrator to join our Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) team. As the Senior Administrator, you will operate a range of administrative processes, providing flexible business support, to contribute to the delivery of business activities and objectives to time, quality and within budget.
Reporting to the NH LTC Sponsorship Director, this role entails administrative support for LTC’s sponsorship team. The objective is to ensure that deliverables and meetings are timely, of an appropriate quality, that the meetings run smoothly and have the information necessary to make good decisions and that good records are kept and are readily accessible for future audits.
Please note this role is for a 12-month FTC and will be based from the Liverpool St offices 2 days per week however; occasional travel to our Thurrock site may be required.
- Enter and maintain information on systems and files to ensure that information is up to date, in the right place and easily accessible.
- Maintain all necessary Terms of Reference, templates, policies and processes.
- Acting as LTC’s co-ordination point of contact for meetings and deliverables.
- Arrange dates for meetings under LTC’s control, prepare agendas, make meeting arrangements, commission papers, provide authors with templates and deadlines and support them as required.
- Produce reports, presentations and other documents, collating and analysing relevant information and statistics from identified sources, to support others in the delivery of their business objectives.
- Answer enquiries and act as a point of contact internally and externally, providing information to stakeholders to support management decision making and escalating issues for resolution as necessary.
About you.
- Relevant administration experience or equivalent vocational training.
- Good understanding of the procedures, policies and guidelines relevant to the sponsor team and how these fit with the overall functioning of the department and directorate.
- Good understanding of the specialised principles and processes governing the work of the department (e.g. Governance, Project Management, Resourcing, Finance, Procurement).
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and a good understanding of staff performance and line manager responsibilities.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
