Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Based within our Supply Chain & Logistics division and reporting directly to the Senior Manager D&SP, you will own the core datasets, Semantic Layer, and reporting automation that underpin D&SP's forecasting, capacity, and labour-planning decisions. As an individual contributor, you will play a central role in transforming our planning capabilities and driving self-service insights across the function.
You will reduce manual analysis by automating recurring deep dives (MAPE/WMAPE, Forecast Forum, monthly reporting) and building self-service insight tools. In this role, you will expand D&SP's remit beyond forecasting into end-to-end planning optimisation, including line scheduling, decant, and datecoding, while building analytical models to support scenario planning, S&OP, and production-scheduling decisions.
Core Responsibilities
Owning and evolving D&SP's core datasets and Semantic Layer (dbt/Databricks) to support trusted, self-service reporting and analytics
Automating recurring reporting, performance analysis, and insight generation, including WMAPE/MAPE deep dives, Forecast Forum packs, and monthly reporting
Building and maintaining analytical models and tools for scenario planning, S&OP, and production-scheduling decisions
Driving the evolution of planning tools by identifying automation and optimisation opportunities
Leading root-cause investigations into forecast inaccuracy, quantifying financial impact, and recommending fixes
Running Forecast Forum and similar cross-functional sessions, coordinating actions across D&SP, Data Science, Material Planning, and Menu Planning
Partnering with Data Science and engineering teams to scope and prioritise tech-enabled forecast improvements
Supporting high-priority ad-hoc planning requests, such as new-market SKU feasibility, retail-partner demand tooling, and stock transfer tools
Exploring and applying AI/LLM-based approaches to reduce manual analysis and move toward an AI-enabled planning function
Mapping operational dependencies and constraints as D&SP's scope expands into line scheduling, decant, and datecoding
Who You Are
Proficient in SQL and experienced with cloud data platforms like Databricks or dbt, with exposure to designing or working with Semantic Layers and data models
Possessing basic knowledge of Python or Apps Script for building simple automation and analytical tools
Strong in quantitative reasoning, comfortable with forecast error metrics (MAPE/WMAPE), scenario modelling, and cost-benefit analysis
Knowledgeable in AI and LLM concepts and how they can be applied to reduce manual reporting and analysis
Experienced in partnering with data science and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical requirements
Skilled in stakeholder communication and facilitation, including running forums and presenting findings to senior stakeholders
A structured problem solver in ambiguous, cross-functional, and operationally complex environments
Equipped with supply chain, forecasting, or production-planning domain knowledge (a strong plus)
