Business Overview
Greens of Soham is part of Top Farms International which farms over 75,000 Ha across the UK and Central and Eastern Europe with a well-established track record of delivering solid business and revenue growth. In the UK we farm in excess of 2,000 Ha, primarily in East Anglia but with operations also in Northumberland and the Scottish borders. Our primary focus is potatoes and beetroot and we are the largest grower of these crops in the UK.
Job Summary
The role of Handy Person will have a variety of duties but will include general maintenance and repair work across the site, minor plumbing and electrical repairs. This is an active, hands-on role that requires a skilled and motivated person.
Key Accountabilities
· Perform general maintenance and repairs at our farming site
· Troubleshoot and repair electrical and plumbing issues
· Install fixtures, appliances, and equipment as/when required
· Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues (e.g PAT testing)
· Coordinate with subcontractors when necessary
· Fabricate or modify structures as needed
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a handy person or in a similar role
· Strong knowledge of general maintenance tasks and repair techniques
· Ability to read technical manuals/instructions
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
