The role
We have a great opportunity to join our Care and Support team in a friendly and supportive environment.
You'll be supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to lead and work as part of a team providing high-quality care and support to residents with learning disabilities and Autism. You'll help ensure residents receive person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, dignity and inclusion within their local community.
You'll be involved in supporting and supervising team members, monitoring resident wellbeing, maintaining care plans and records, promoting safeguarding and health and safety, and helping to ensure the service delivers safe, responsive and high-quality care. You'll also play an important role in developing resident involvement, supporting daily activities and building positive relationships with residents, families and external agencies.
This role is based at our Care Home in Ryde. You may be required to attend training courses at other Southern Housing locations when required. The role includes evening, weekend and on-call responsibilities, and flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service.
What you’ll need:
Experience supporting people with complex needs, learning disabilities and/or Autism, with a strong understanding of person-centred care.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, colleagues, families and external agencies.
Empathy, compassion and resilience, with a commitment to promoting independence, inclusion and quality of life for people with care and support needs.
The ability to motivate others, supervise team members and respond professionally to challenging situations and behaviours. Experience of leading a team is desirable.
Good knowledge of health and safety, safeguarding and best practice within a care setting, together with strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this qualification. A First Aid qualification is desirable.
Please note that this role requires an Enhanced DBS check with Adult Barred List check. A driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance is desirable. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed.
In your supporting statement, it is important that you demonstrate how you meet each of the criteria above, providing clear examples from your experience to support your application.
Closing date: Monday 17th August at 23:59pm
Please note: We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications. We encourage you to submit your application and supporting statement as soon as possible so your application can be reviewed and considered.

Inclusion & Diversity
We work hard to create a diverse and inclusive culture and environment where people are respected for who they are. Encouraging inclusion is not just about protected characteristics, it’s about celebrating differences of thought, opinion, experience and perspective of each individual.
We’re all different in our own way and we want our colleagues to feel comfortable, that they belong, and are safe to be themselves at work, without fear of being judged or excluded, but valued for their contribution to our One Team approach.
