Excelsior Academy opened in 2008 and serves pupils aged 11–19. It operates within one of the most challenging communities locally and nationally, and provides high-quality teaching, exceptional facilities, and excellent resources for over 1,500 pupils. The Academy is oversubscribed in most year groups.
We are looking for a learning support assistant apprentice based in our secondary school who would like to develop a career in teaching whilst completing a level 3 qualification in teaching assistant with PEAK apprenticeships.
Key person responsibilities:
- Supporting teaching and learning
- Supporting students
- Classroom management
- Monitoring and record keeping
- Supporting inclusion
- Wider school duties as required
- Data capture for interventions
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Attend training relevant to the post
- General duties as required
Desired Qualifications: GCSE maths and English at grades 4/C or above or equivalent
Interview will be held on week commencing 6th July
Start date: September 2026
