We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and talented Chef to join our friendly nursery and prep school, catering for children aged 0–11 years. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about producing exceptional food from scratch and who understands the important role nutritious meals play in children's growth, development, and enjoyment of food.
About the Role
As our School Chef, you will be responsible for planning and preparing delicious, balanced meals using fresh, high-quality ingredients. We are looking for someone who takes pride in creating food that is not only nutritious but also beautifully presented, encouraging even the youngest children to explore and enjoy a wide variety of flavours and ingredients.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
· Has a genuine passion for cooking fresh, seasonal food from scratch.
· Understands children's nutritional requirements and can create balanced, appealing menus for children aged 0–11 years.
· Takes pride in the presentation of every meal, making food exciting and visually appealing for young children.
· Is creative, enthusiastic, and keen to introduce children to new tastes and cuisines.
· Maintains the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and kitchen management.
· Can work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate warmly and positively with children, helping to create a happy dining experience.
· Has a friendly, patient, and approachable manner and enjoys being part of the school community.
Essential Requirements
· Previous experience as a chef or cook, ideally within a school, nursery, or similar catering environment.
· Minimum of Level 2 Chef qualification, Level 3 food hygiene or Level 2 with a willingness to attain level 3 immediately .
· A strong proven understanding of allergens, dietary requirements, and nutritional standards for children.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Salary Negotiable / 52 week contract, 4 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays, company pension scheme and benefits scheme
Pay: £12.71-£19.88 per hour
