Peer Support Worker

£12.96 per hour (£15,163.20 p/a)
22.5 hours per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)
Job Overview
To work with service users referred from the Primary Care Mental Health Service both individually and in groups, using your own lived experience to provide person-centred support.
Responsibilities
- Establish a supportive and respectful relationships with service users referred from the Primary Care Mental Health Services team.
- Develop the ability to share your personal story of recovery in a professional manner.
- Work with service users on a one-to-one basis to learn self-help strategies, with support from the wider team.
Requirements
- Experience of living with, and recovered from, your own mental illness.
- Experience in accessing local support services, organisations and groups.
- Skills and confidence to support Service Users to engage with support services, organisations and groups including making and receiving referrals.
- An understanding of the implications of mental ill-health.
- Able to travel to GP Surgeries around the Andover area.
