Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tyre Fitter to join our team at HiQ Livingston . The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, repairing, and maintaining tyres on a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and excellent customer service skills to deliver a professional service to our clients. Responsibilities
- Remove and replace tyres using appropriate hand and power tools with precision and care
- Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and defects, recommending repairs or replacements as necessary
- Balance tyres to ensure smooth vehicle operation and minimise vibrations
- Perform routine maintenance on tyre fitting equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist customers by providing advice on tyre selection, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Use heavy lifting techniques when handling tyres and related equipment safely
- Document work performed accurately in accordance with company procedures
Experience
- Prior experience in tyre fitting or automotive maintenance is essential
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and tyre components is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and tyre levers is essential
- Experience using power tools for tyre removal and fitting tasks is desirable
- Strong maintenance skills to ensure tools and equipment remain in good working order
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Physical strength to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
