Due to continued growth, Sumac Precision Engineering is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our
team at our Weymouth facility.
In this crucial role, you will help ensure that the components we manufacture meet the highest standards of
quality, adhering to customer specifications, internal procedures, and relevant industry standards
Key Responsibilities:
You will carry out inspection activities on precision Machined and Fabricated components to verify
compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards, including:
- In-Process / Roaming Inspection
- Pre- and Post-Treatment Inspection
- Producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a detail-oriented team player with a strong understanding of quality in engineering.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- Proficient in the use of hand-held measuring equipment (Micrometers, Verniers, Height Gauges,
Comparators, Thread Gauges, etc.)
- Good working knowledge of dimensional tolerances
- Understanding of Quality Assurance principles
- Ability to complete accurate and concise reports
- Comfortable using a PC and standard software tools
- Solid engineering knowledge and experience
- A methodical approach, strong attention to detail, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
Desirable:
- Knowledge of AS9102 and First Article Inspection requirements
- Background in precision mechanical manufacture (machining and welding)
- Experience with calibration of measuring equipment
o Programming and operating CMMs (PC-DMIS)
o Keyence Measuring Systems
o Faro Arms using PowerInspect software
Training may be considered for the right candidate with a strong engineering background and the right
attitude.
Minimum of 39 hours per week
Core working hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am to 1 pm Friday
