Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient care by monitoring health status, administering medications as directed, and supporting medical routines
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs to promote healthy living
- Engage in behavior management techniques to support clients with dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Offer companionship and emotional support to foster a positive environment for clients
- Drive clients safely to appointments or outings when required, ensuring adherence to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to client care, including laundry and maintaining a clean living space
- Respond promptly to emergencies with first aid skills and follow established protocols for hospice or palliative care situations
- Document all care activities accurately in client records and communicate any concerns or changes in condition to supervising staff
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in patient care, dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or senior care roles
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and basic first aid certification is advantageous
- Experience with caregiving tasks such as heavy lifting, meal preparation, behavior management, and driving clients safely is desirable
- Familiarity with healthcare practices including nursing routines and home safety standards is beneficial
